CAMBRIDGE — The New York Condition School Boards Association honored Cambridge Central University on Thursday with its Champions of Alter award for the high school environmental science class’s ongoing Hedges Lake H2o Good quality Initiative.

Catherine Lewis, president of the Schenectady Town College District Board of Training and Region 7 director for NYSSBA, presented a “Champions for Change” banner to the university on Thursday afternoon.

Lewis stated NYSSBA started off the non-competitive award through the pandemic to acknowledge worthwhile tasks by community colleges and other instructional establishments. Honorees are decided on by a committee of NYSSBA users and staff.
Butz said the school’s water-quality tests software began in 2003 when invasive zebra mussels were identified in Hedges Lake, about 6 miles north of the faculty. The plan included the Batten Kill in 2006 and the pond in the biosphere protect a few a long time back.
