Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves is nominating nine people to serve on three boards that make decisions about general public instruction from kindergarten through higher education.
JACKSON, Miss — Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves is nominating nine men and women to serve on 3 boards that make selections about general public instruction from kindergarten by higher education.
The nominations are for the Board of Training, the Community Faculty Board and the board for the Institutions of Higher Understanding.
All nominees need to be verified by the condition Senate.
The Republican governor designed the nominations after some vacancies experienced occurred because members’ phrases had expired — a predicament that meant boards could be unable to perform business enterprise if also many associates missed meetings.
Six of the nominees are white adult men. Two are white gals, and just one is a Black woman.

- In Oct 2020, Governor Reeves also appointed Glen East, of Harrison County, as the College Administrator Agent. East is Superintendent of the Gulfport College District.
Mississippi Neighborhood University Board:
- Luke Montgomery, of Itawamba County, has been reappointed to represent the former Very first Congressional District. Montgomery is President and CEO of Montgomery Enterprises, Inc. He obtained his Bachelor of Company Administration from Mississippi Condition College.
- Johnny McRight, of Washington County, has been reappointed to characterize the previous Second Congressional District. He owns and operates McRight Services, LLC. He gained his Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry and Learn of Combined Sciences from the University of Mississippi.
