Portland — The Pan Atlantic Foundation, a federal Department of State-sanctioned not-for-profit, dedicated to international educational exchange, is seeking a host family for a student who will be attending Camden Hills Regional High School in the Spring 2021 Semester. The student, Elena, will be traveling from Italy in January.
The host family will provide the student with a bed to sleep in, a spot at their table for three meals a day, and their love, during the five-month exchange. Elena is coming on a J1 cultural visa where the goal is for her not only to obtain the American high school experience, but also to integrate into the family as if she was one of their natural children — they are to treat her exactly as they would treat their own child(ren). Elena will come with health insurance to cover her while she’s here in Maine and her own spending money — shopping, going out with friends, school expenses, including buying lunch in the cafeteria, if she chooses to do so, etc. Pan Atlantic will provide more identifying information about Elena to the host family.
Those interested in hosting or learning more about hosting can email Foundation Regional Manager, Marci Zaunick, at mzaunick@panatlanticfoundation.org; call 207-871-8622 x119 or go to www.iwanttohost.org to fill out the host family application.
Pan Atlantic pays a referral bonus of $100 to any club, group, entity, individual who refers a family that hosts.
