Regional supporters of the Solvang Pageant Theater, together with board users and community volunteers, have been decorating the theater’s primary wall with commemorative words and phrases and photographs. Construction crews are scheduled to arrive at the theater on Monday, Sept. 13, to start off the demolition and rebuilding course of action of the 47-calendar year-aged venue. Reconstruction is envisioned to be concluded by July 2022.

“We are so excited about what the rebuilt theater will carry to our neighborhood,” Ann Foxworthy Lewellen, vice-chair of the Theaterfest board of administrators, stated in press products. “It’s so really transferring to go through the comments and see the artwork that so several of our patrons have posted on the previous wall.”

Contributors have been invited to adorn the wall with decorated picture frames, framed close to photos, artworks, or writings. Some supporters brought clippings from a 1974 newspaper post that explained the theater’s grand opening.

Help for the theater’s rebuilding initiative arrived from donations from community associates, companies, and foundations. Practically 80 p.c of the theater’s targeted goal of $4.7 million has been lifted so significantly, in accordance to press supplies.
