CANTON — Brian P. Barry attended the July meeting of the Canton Central University District Board of Schooling to build a scholarship in memory of his father, former chemistry instructor James F. Barry III, who died in June.
“My father was a trainer of fantastic and unwavering commitment to his college students and the issue he taught them,” Mr. Barry wrote in his presentation to the faculty board. “He believed in his learners and acquired to know them individually and ongoing his reward of instructing by telling jokes or providing bits of trivia to his former college students when he would operate into them in the local community lengthy immediately after his retirement. The more youthful Mr. Barry turned a trainer himself and taught art at West Hempstead Significant School on Very long Island exactly where his father went to school.
“As a former educator at my dad’s higher school in West Hempstead and at Hofstra College, I sense this scholarship will be a way of offering back to the local community of Canton and the large faculty in memory of my dad,” he wrote in his proposal. “I am confident he would be pretty content if he ended up here to see it.”
The 1st $300 award will be specified out in June 2023.
