Southern University students and faculty exchange with Ghana University

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Pupils at Southern College are about to embark on a unique variety of academic journey. As section of an exchange system, they will vacation to Ghana to research the country’s company practices.

“I will be finding out initially and foremost and staying equipped to see some of the landmarks more than there and some of the culture and the foods and things like that that will be diving into,” Mekhi Singleton, a finance key senior, explained.

Singleton is one of the students picked for the research abroad plan and hopes to understand matters that will apply to his potential career.

“Just on top of that, it’ll almost certainly inspire me to glance ahead to careers in which I’m ready to travel and include myself in intercontinental endeavors,” he stated.

Dr. Donald Andrews claimed this trade will give them the likelihood to develop interactions that will enable trade concerning Louisiana and Ghana.

“This is going to give us a fantastic possibility to communicate about global small business, our trade partners, and how we can perform jointly extra or much less to enhance the financial perfectly-getting of both of those societies right here in Louisiana as effectively as in Ghana,” Andrews explained.

We have improved connections that we can give them information on Louisiana and how authentic estate is effective out below versus them just acquiring to go through someone else,” stated Jarden James.

Andrews said they want to extend this prospect for more people in Louisiana.

“They have a port there. we have a port right here in terms of New Orleans and Baton Rouge. So, after we get to know each individual other, we can do a lot more in terms of trade with each other, and each societies can make improvements to,” Andrews stated.

On-campus fundraisers and a federal grant are assisting to fork out for portion of the journey as the group heads out up coming 7 days.
